Our translation process

What happens with your document at Globálica?

 

There is nothing simple in a translation process, but we will present our workflow as simply as possible. As you will see, it is a balanced mixture of tech and craft with rigorous quality checks and flexible options for personalization and development.

Step 1 - Rough translation

 Once we have agreed on deadlines and you have accepted our quote, your document is uploaded to a CAT tool. CAT stands for Computer Assisted Translation, it is a program that allows us to translate your documents within a framework. The program splits your document into segments, which are then automatically translated using our previously translated text stored in the translation memory. With this system, we make sure that the translation is consistent while saving us time and saving you money. 

Step 2 - Actual translation or post machine translation editing

 However, even though our translation memory improves with every new translation we complete for you, it is far from perfect. Enter the queen of the process: the Translator. One of us will take good care of your translation; she will make sure the text is compliant with any glossary of terms you have provided, any directions we have previously received from you, general grammar, punctuation and other linguistic rules, our style guides, and other parameters. She will also add a bit of “spice” where appropriate.  

Step 3 - Quality assurance

 Our CAT tool offers a powerful QA feature that checks for inconsistencies, typos, grammar mistakes, deviations from your terminology, missing or incorrect tags, and more. Cool, right?

After the translator receives the report, she makes all the necessary corrections and then delivers the document to the Reviewer.

Step 4 - Review

 

A different linguist takes it from here as a Reviewer. The reviewer checks your document with fresh eyes, making sure the message flows naturally, and that there are no errors or ambiguities. She also ensures that your brand is presented consistently and distinctively.

Step 5 - Feedback

 We will carefully consider any feedback we get from you, and we will update our translation memories with your suggestions for changes and improvements to implement them next time.
